The Study of Immune Globulin Gamma (IgG) Immune Globulin Macro Globulin (IgM) and Immune Globulin A (IgA) Level in Diphtheria
Ro Byung-Ho

Abstract
Quantitative measurement of the serum immuneglobulin (IgG, IgA and IgM) were conducted on 32 diphtheria patients, ranging in age from 5 to 15 years, who were treated at the Seoul National University Hospital.
Their diagnosed of clinical, serological and bacteriological check-ups.
Lim¢¥s method was used in calculating levels of immune globulin, i.e. IgG, IgA and IgM, in serum.
1) Immune globulin levels in the serum of diphtheria patients were as follows:
a) IgG value is 1, 779. 2mg+320. 0mg/100ml (S.D.), p-value 5.26%
b), IgA value is 293.3mg¡¾63.4mg/100ml (S.D.), p-value 3:36%
c) IgM value is 116.2mg+26.6mg/100ml (S.D.) p-value 0.001%
2) IgG levels in the serum of diphtheria patients were lower than was the case with healthy Koreans and control group but higher compared to healthy westerners.
3) IgA levels in diphtheria patients were lower than in control group but higher as compared with healthy- Koreans and westerners.
4) IgM levels in diphtheria patients were higher than in control, healthy Koreans and westerners.
